How to solve the problem of car LED headlight decoding?
TToday we are talking about the decoding problems encountered during the use of LED headlights.
If you have the following situation after installing the LED headlights, then you should have encountered a problem with the decoding of the headlights:
Dashboard error message
Flashing
Daytime running lights are not working
Turn off lights randomly
Firstly, let's explain the cause of the decoding problem
Today's cars have a bus transmission system called Canbus, which is responsible for information transmission and control between the car computer and various components. The control of the car lights is also among them. The driver sends a switch command to the car lights through the canbus system. At the same time, the car computer canbus system will detect whether the car lights are operating normally and whether there is a problem by means of pulse signal broadcasting. When the car computer detects a change in the current of the car lights, the computer thinks that there is a problem with the car lights and sends an alarm on the dashboard. In the other part of the car's canbus system, the lights will flicker after the pulse signal is blocked by the LED device.
So how do we solve the problem of car light decoding?
The answer is to add a resistor kit, capacitance or resistor plus capacitor device to the lamp circuit to increase the lamp load current to and close to the halogen lamp level (55W), and use capacitors to solve the canbus pulse problem.
Specifically, we have three solutions for different types of LED headlights and different car situations:
For low-power LED car bulbs (15W-35W), the optimal solution is to use a load resistor KIT, as long as it is installed in the car light circuit, the current value of the car light can be raised back to and close to the level of the halogen lamp. In this way, 70% of car computers will think that a good halogen lamp has been reinstalled on the car and is working properly. This way, most of the error codes will disappear, and the flickering problem can be partially solved, and its price is cheap.
But its shortcoming is that it will generate a lot of heat, and the stable operation should be about 150 degrees, so it must be installed on the metal parts of the car, and it must not be allowed to approach any plastic parts of the car.
For high-power LED car bulbs (45W-55W), the flicker problem is often blocked by the pulse of the canbus, so a large-capacity capacitor must be used to solve it. Installing a large-capacity capacitor on the loop of the car light can solve the flicker problem caused by the obstruction of the canbus pulse signal in some cars.
capacitor
Finally, there are still some automobile decoding problems that can neither be solved with pure resistance nor with pure capacitance, and some devices that combine resistance and capacitance are needed to solve it. This device is called a super decoder. This kind of decoder works well, but the price is very expensive.
Tips: Not all cars will encounter decoding problems. Novsight's car lights can solve 90% of decoding problems. Only a few brands of cars are prone to decoding problems such as Dodge, Jeep, Bmw, Volvo.
Novsight Automotive Lighting has always been working hard to create a safe and convenient car life for customers. Any Novsight customer who encounters flickering or error messages can contact our customer service in time, and we will do our best to solve your problem.
